First ever RC Poker Run!
Truck types: 1:6, 1:8, 1:10, 1:12
Registration, meet & greet, get your rig ready from 8am to 9am
Registration $10 per truck. Guests are free to walk with us.
*This will be filmed for YouTube and photo's posted online. If you don't want to be seen, don't come. By attending you are giving permission to use your image for social media content. Also, any injuries sustained are at your risk as this is a public gathering/get together trail run. Again, by attending you are acknowledging that nobody but yourself is responsible for anything that may happen to you. Please do be careful.
Start at Bebo Grove parking lot, wind our way on an epic trail run to Shannon Terrace hillside play spot and then return. Approx. 4 hours, possibly more. Bring hydration, snacks, first aid for you and first aid for your truck in the event that either of you sustain any kind of breakage. Trail repairs are a real thing.
How to play:
At random times on the trail run, your host (Me: Scotty), will call a halt and it will be time to deal out a card from a standard deck of 52. We will be playing 5 card draw with a few twists. There will be 6 checkpoints so you will in essence have 6 cards. At the finish you give one card to the dealer (Me: Scotty). You cannot trade cards with one another and you cannot share what you have. Why? Because you might discourage someone or a few people who have really bad hands and they might just go home early. There is no fun for them when that happens so I ask... keep your hands to yourselves (your momma must have taught you that right?) and let's leave it to the end to see who has what in their card hands. Feel free to bluff all you want while on the trail and at the finish of course. If you want, you can make side bets with one another based on your hands. That's up to you.
You can buy up to 2 cards from the dealer at $5 each. BUT... you have to get rid of 2 cards from your hand FIRST! Yes, this means you could buy worse cards. Poker is risky.
**I will have pop and potato chips for the drivers at the end. Guests can buy them for $1.50.
Winner of the pot (60/40 split with 60% going to you) is the winner of the best hand. If there is a tie, then whomever holds the highest card (Ace is high or low) wins.
See photo in discussion to learn about the hands and which hand beats which.
Other ways to make money:
-60/40 draw: $5 per ticket. (60% to you)
-Prize raffle: $5 per ticket. (Shopping credits at Action Hobby)
About the money's:
Q: If you guys get 60%, where does the other 40% go?
A:To me.
Why? To cover the snacks and drinks and help finance future events plus a little sumthin sumthin for my efforts. If you don't think that's fair, don't support the event.
