Om Shanti Peace Meditation
ॐ शान्तिः
During this meditation we will relax into the gentle waves of ‘easy to recite’ peace mantras from Vedic scriptures. In Sanskrit, the ancient language of the Vedic tradition, these are called “Shanti Mantras”. These mantras have the power to transform our inner space. In a space where these mantras are frequently recited, the energy of them ‘lingers’ and will fill the space with high vibes. These high vibes are often even tangible.
What happens when we listen to and/or recite these Peace Mantras?
We allow the lower frequency emotions and thoughts such as fear, anger, greed, worries etc to be dissolved. Just like when a lit candle in a dark room lights up the space, these mantras dispel the darkness in our inner space so our inner light can shine.
Our inner peace can get disturbed through 3 different means:
1) By circumstances that are beyond our control (like a hurricane or flood);
2) By circumstances that are partially beyond our control (like noisy neighbours or busy traffic);
3) By the ‘inner realm’ through mental chatter, emotions and ego.
The last one is the most important one to know how to handle through mantras. We will never know inner peace, even when there are no outer disturbances, if our inner space is not peaceful.
When ‘we’ as an individual are peaceful, we directly positively influence the environment around us as well as on a collective, global scale.
When we recite these mantras in a group, the beneficial effects are many fold.
