Let your kids dive deep into the wild this summer with Rooted and Ready, a 3-day immersive survival skills camp hosted at Elk & Acorn Wilderness Wellness in Denbigh.
This intensive forest school experience is designed to teach the Core Four of Survival—Shelter, Water, Fire, and Food—through hands-on activities, team challenges, and individual growth opportunities.
Kids will:
🔥 Build emergency shelters & tie survival knots
💧 Locate and purify water using fire
🌞 Learn to navigate using the sun and natural landmarks
🌿 Explore wild plants, carve, weave, and craft
🧭 Complete a final day survival simulation as a team
✨ Start each day with calming sensory & breathing practices for focus and resilience
Led by Dr. Shawn Slade, an experienced educator and wellness guide, this program is about more than outdoor skills—it builds real confidence, mindfulness, and leadership.
