Join us for a special screening of Save The Cinema (12A, 109mins) – a funny, heartwarming film based on the true story of hairdresser Liz Evans and her fight to save Carmarthenshire’s Lyric Theatre.
This uplifting story shows how a small Welsh town, united by their love of cinema and theatre, achieved the unimaginable.
It’s the perfect film for us here in Caerphilly, as we work to bring cinema back to our town and share the magic of the big screen together. 🎥💛
🌟 Post-Screening Q&A
We’re delighted to welcome members of the cast and Liz’s family for a special conversation after the film:
Wynne Evans, Liz’s son – well known as a tenor, actor and broadcaster – who also appears in Save The Cinema.
Mark Evans, Liz’s son – Welsh opera singer, author and creative entrepreneur – who also features in the film.
Angharad Roche, who played Mrs Jones in Save The Cinema.
Together, we’ll celebrate what would have been Liz’s 81st birthday – a perfect occasion to honour her life, her fight for cinema, and the community spirit she inspired.
