2025 Trail Volunteer Workday

Join fellow trail lovers and Forest Preserve land management staff for a morning of trail improvements and natural areas restoration. The Byron Forest Preserve District has over 40 miles of public trails through prairies, woodlands, and oak savannas. Give back to the land and the trails that you enjoy visiting.

Activities may include cutting and removing invasive species along trails, hauling and spreading dirt, gravel and other fill materials, improving drainage, installing or creating erosion control structures, invasive W**d removal, and lots of other fun possibilities!

Things to bring: Encouraged to wear pants, sturdy shoes or boots, insect repellent, leather gloves, and eye protection. Needed tools will be provided.

Meet at the Jarrett Prairie Center parking lot, 7993 N. River Rd Byron at 8 AM to go over workday plans.
