Basket Making Class- Swing Handle Market

Barbara Vaughn will teach you how to weave a swing handle market. These baskets will be 8" x 12"x 6". The basket will be a great addition to any home. This class is for beginners and people who have been weaving for a while! Make sure to bring lunch.

Barbara is a recently retired Overton County School teacher who has been weaving baskets for 40-plus years. She learned most of my weaving skills from Katherine Smith who used to live in Monroe. Often when she designed a new basket, Barbara would be her new pattern tester. This forced her to learn to read patterns and how to write her patterns. This class is $45 per person.
