This is an in-person talk here at the Grapevine Centre. Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) is sometimes known as "winter depression" because the symptoms are usually more apparent and more severe during the winter. Symptoms of SAD can include a persistent low mood, a loss of pleasure or interest in normal everyday activities, and feelings of despair, lethargy and tiredness. For some people, these symptoms can be severe and have a significant impact on their day-to-day activities. Psychotherapist Angela Williamson will share the latest research on why we are affected by the falling light levels and what's going in the body and brain as autumn kicks in. She will explain what help is available and will offer coping strategies.
Tickets for Winter Depression (S.A.D.) and how to survive it can be booked here.
