Ang Lee’s adaptation of Jane Austen’s first novel respects the timeless material while bringing a contemporary energy and humour to this period drama.

Rich Mr. Dashwood dies, leaving his second wife and her three daughters poor by the rules of inheritance. The sisters strive for love in the changing circumstances of their lives.
