Pinoy Pride Vancouver
We exist, learn, and thrive on the unceded, ancestral, and occupied traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Səl̓ílwətaʔ (Tsleil-Watuth), Stó:lō, Shíshálh (Sechelt), and Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) Nations of the Coast Salish peoples. We are recognized as the first Filipino Canadian LGBTQ+ group in British Columbia, officially established in 2011 with the goal of promoting acceptance of LGBT individuals within a community deeply rooted in traditional values. The group has actively participated in the Vancouver Pride Parade. Vision: We aspire to achieve complete acceptance for a vibrant and proud Filipino-Canadian LGBTQ+ community. Mission: We celebrate and collaboratively build a resilient Filipino-Canadian LGBTQ+ community through education, advocacy, events, and support services. Values: Our efforts are guided by several key principles: Our community is culturally distinct; We must advocate for social justice; Education serves as a catalyst for change; We prioritize collaboration; We aim to foster a safe and inclusive environment.

The "Pinoy Festival: Panahon na para Magsaya 2" is the largest celebration of Filipino Heritage Month in British Columbia. This festival is free and family-friendly, featuring a range of activities that showcase the richness of our culture, ensuring there’s something fun for everyone. Join the Pinoy Pride Vancouver Society at Hataw Zumbayanan to start the day with a lively Zumba party, dancing to the vibrant beats of Pinoy music! Then, take part in the Solidarity Parade, where various communities will unite, committed to supporting each other as we strive for a brighter future for all. Spend the day painting rocks, a delightful blend of creativity and nature that has become hugely popular among both beginners and experienced artists. Plus, seize the chance to enjoy quality time together, sharing a meal and engaging in meaningful conversations - Kwentuhan.
