Paid Leave is coming to Minnesota. Is your business ready?
Starting Jan. 1, 2026, Minnesota Paid Leave will offer payments and job protections to Minnesotans when they need time off work for some of life’s important moments – like welcoming a child, recovering from a serious illness, or caring for a loved one. As an employer, you play an important role in helping your employees learn about and access the program.
The Minnesota Paid Leave team from DEED and our local area Chambers of Commerce are teaming up to hold an in-person engagement session for our members. Co-hosting are Becker, Big Lake, Buffalo, Delano, Elk River, I-94, Monticello, Montrose and the Wright County Economic Development Partnership.
This training will provide the most accurate information you can find as details get more defined as it gets closer to the implementation date. You will not only get an overview of the program, hear the latest updates, and get answers to your questions, but will learn how to actually set up your Paid Leave account, see the application and see how the portal works. The Chambers of Commerce want to help you – our members - make key decisions that will best shape how Paid Leave will work in your organizations. Hope to see you there!
