NYS DEC Public Hearing on the EJ Siting Law

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation is holding a public hearing on draft amendments to the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) regulations that incorporate provisions of the Environmental Justice Siting Law or the "Cumulative Impacts Law".

These changes would requirement regulators to consider the cumulative impact of past and present pollution on a community when considering where new polluting facilities will be sited.

This hearing is an opportunity to learn more about these proposed changes, ask questions, and provide feedback on what pollutants you believe should be considered as a cumulative impact.


Those who can not attend in person can register for the virtual public hearings on April 23rd at 2pm and 6pm.
