Kirtan w Megan

Megan Hook found Shakti Yoga while looking for liked-minded people in the yoga and sound world. She has been practicing yoga and meditation for over 30 years. Megan’s root yogic tradition is Kundalini. She was certified and practiced at Golden Bridge Yoga in Hollywood, CA, with Gurumukh, Tej, Harijiwan and Gurushabd. Megan is also a certified in Hatha yoga, sound healing, pranayama, and yoga nidra. Megan is deeply interested in yogic philosophy, nāda yoga (the yoga of sound), and transformation. As a musician, Megan graduated cum laude from Ithaca College with a degree in Classical Music. She has sung opera professionally and is a singer/songwriter releasing music under her band name The Bright Forever. Megan chants and records sacred mantras, and leads Kirtan and offers sound baths. Megan received the 5 Mindfulness Trainings in the lineage of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh at Deer Park Monastery in Escondido, CA. She did her secular mindfulness training at UCLA’s MARC program through the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Biology.
