The MOME Photography MA cordially invite you to the diploma exhibition titled FOG by Sveta Maximova, our graduating master student. In the Photography MA programme, the graduating students present an exhibition of their masterworks. The exhibition is open on 27-28 May at the MOME TechPark Filmstudio.

FOG gathers the icons and post-icons of a political present, inviting viewers into a thick, sensory fog of images. In a world increasingly shaped by visuals, imagery itself is breaking down – accelerated by autocratic systems and algorithmic erasure. You can’t look fast enough to see the truth anymore. One and zero move faster than reality.

Marching tutorial is a song-length performance mixing the aesthetics of militarism, protestism and and the atmosphere of the current post-political void.

Sveta Maximova is an interdisciplinary artist from the Sakha Republic. Rethinking herself as a representative of an ethnic group within post-imperial discourse and now living in Europe, she navigates the socio-political landscape through the lens of hybrid Sakha knowledge. Sveta creates visual and textual speculations intersecting moving and stopped images.
Ost x Maximova is the artist duo of Paris Ost and Sveta Maximova, active since 2024. Together, they investigate the politics of religion and the religion of politics through their self-developed aesthetic of I(c)ronism – Iconism multiplied by Irony.
