Pascal Marzan plays a microtonal 10-string guitar, combining flamenco techniques, string preparations for unexpected and surprising textures, melodies and sonorities.
For 25 years, he has focused on free improvisation.
He has played and recorded in the past on a 6-string guitar with John Russell, Roger Smith (Eminem Records), Sabu Toyozumi, Urs Leimgruber, Soli X Ilos, Steve Beresford, Keith Rowe, Catherine Karako and many other musicians, poets, dancers and visual artists.
On his 10-string microtonal guitar he plays and records with Alex Ward, John Russell, Steve Beresford, Phil Durrant, Ivo Perelman and the Ivo Perelman London string Project with Phil Wachsmann, Marcio Mattos, Benedict Taylor, the composer Roger Redgate, Roger Turner, L’improbable CIEL, Moon Module, Lu Edmonds, the London Improvisers Orchestra…
