🎶 Dance class, history talk & social dancing 🎶
Lindy hop was not created in a dance laboratory! It comes from somewhere and its story is amazing.
On May 25 we will have a history night:
- A dance class about a very early jazz dance
- A talk about the origins of lindy hop
- And lots of time for socialising and dancing
You can bring food and drink to eat during the talk, or go for dinner after.
🔹18:00-18:30 Peabody class with Bogi & Thom
The Peabody is a very early jazz dance that was popular in the 1920s. It is easy to learn and great fun!
Class with be in English with Hungarian translation.
All levels! No experience necessary.
🔹19:00-19:45 Where did the lindy hop come from?
Why does swing music sound the way it does? What changes were happening in America when the lindy hop was created?
Thom has been dancing the lindy hop for and learning about its history 20 years. He has prepared a talk about the origins with lots clips, music, pictures & dance inspiration.
Talk will be in English.

Lots of time to socialise and dance :)

ISMERD MEG A LINDY HOP TÖRTÉNETÉT A SIMPLY SWINGBEN!
🎶 Táncóra, történelem és buli 🎶
A lindy hop története lenyűgöző: nem egy laborban, mesterségesen találták ki, hanem organikusan alakult ki.
Május 25 estét a lindy hop történetének fogjuk szentelni:
- Bemutatjuk és megtanítjuk a lindy hop közvetlen elődjét
- Beszélgetni fogunk a lindy hop eredetéről, kezdeteiről
- És sok időt hagyunk kötetlen táncra is!
Hozhatsz magaddal enni- és innivalót, de lesz idő a környéken vacsorázni.
🔹18:00-18:30 Peabody óra Bogival és Thommal
A Peabody a jazz táncok egy korai formája, 1920-as években volt népszerű. Nagyon egyszerűen megtanulható, jópofa tánc.
Az óra angolul lesz magyar fordítással.
Kezdőknek és haladóknak is egyaránt ajánljuk.

Honnan ered a swing zene jellegzetes hangzása? Hogyan alakul át az amerikai társadalmi, amikor megjelenik a lindy hop? Thom, aki 20 éve táncol, ezekre a kérdésekre fog választ adni az előadásában, amihez sok korabeli felvétellel készül.
Az előadás angolul lesz.
