Eco-Somatic Yoga: A Movement Practice for Reconnection
As summer fades and the air begins to cool, we’re invited to slow down, ground ourselves, and return to what matters—our bodies, the Earth, and the roots that hold us.
Join us for a new somatic experiment: Eco-Somatic Yoga—a gentle, nature-inspired practice that blends mindful movement, somatic awareness, and ecological consciousness. Drawing from principles of embodiment, contact improvisation, and deep ecology, this class offers a space to explore how we move with the Earth, with ourselves, and with each other.
In our first session, we’ll come together to share what ecosomatics means to each of us and explore how we relate to our bodies and the environment.
🌱 In the following sessions, we’ll explore:
🪷 Gentle yoga and somatic movement rooted in contact improvisation
🪷 Guided sensory meditations and nature-based visualizations
🪷 Invitations to engage with nature—both imaginatively and, when possible, outdoors
🪷 Conscious touch integration periods after each session
🪷 Optional journaling for reflection and continued connection between classes
This series is open to all levels and is especially supportive for those seeking an intuitive, earth-connected movement practice. It’s a space to experiment, to rest, and to reconnect with your unique movement language and the natural world.
🍂 Let your body remember. Let the Earth hold you. Let this be your invitation back to your roots.

About the facilitator:
Christianna Strbik Giaume is a non-binary intuitive movement artist and somatic research guide. With over a decade of experience in contemporary dance and improvisation, they bring a rich background in movement to their work. Over the past two and a half years, they have been deeply reconnecting with their ancestral land in Eastern Europe, where they’ve developed an eco-somatic movement method that integrates embodied research and experimental practices to explore the relationship between the nature within us and the nature around us.
Drawing from their own lived experience and researching concepts rooted in contact improv, "MA", building deconstruction, and yoga, Christianna creates nurturing, transformative spaces with an experimental framework. In 2023, they completed a Contact Improvisation facilitator training, and they are also a 200-hour certified Hatha yoga teacher through Yoga Alliance.
In 2022, Christianna founded Be Danced Somatic Research upon returning to their ancestral home in Hungary—a project born from the desire to bridge movement, land, and personal healing through somatic inquiry.
