Dear International Bear Friends,
We warmly invite you to spend a weekend in Budapest - and while exploring one of the hotspots of European tourism, you may support an important cause - Budapest Pride is celebrating its 30th anniversary! Join the march, and some additional bear programs!
On the grounds of protecting children, Hungary's government decided to restrict the right of assembly. In March 2025 the Parliament voted in favour of a bill to ban Pride. In the future, it will be forbidden in Hungary to hold rallies promoting homosexuality, and both the organisers and the participants of such an event could be fined up to 200,000 forints (EUR 500).
We all know that this is just a provocation, and getting fined for attending the Pride is just ridiculous. Let's show them, how many of us we are, and let the system be paralized by the 100.000 attendees of Budapest Pride.
We hereby invite the members of the International Bear Community to visit Budapest on June 28th, 2025, and join us for the 30th Budapest Pride! Before the parade starts, we get together for some "warm up", and after the parade everyone's welcome to join the official Pride afterparty in the largest outdoor club of Central Europe.
Planned agenda:
June 28th, 2025 (Saturday)
12:00-14:30 - Meet the Bears - warmup at one of our favourite bars
15:00-18:00 - Budapest Pride March - let's walk together for our rights
22:00-05:00 - Budapest Pride Afterparty at Budapest Park
June 29th, 2025 (Sunday)
13:00-19:00 - Bear Piknik on Margaret Island
Precise timing, location and programs are still subject to change (if many of you are in town for Friday, we could organize a night out). Let us know if you're planning to join as a group from one city, and if you need help with arranging accommodation.
If you cannot make it, but share the event with your local bears, that's also very helpful!

Kedves Macik és barátaik!
Ezt az eseményt azért hoztuk létre, hogy Európa (de akár a világ) több pontjáról eljöjjenek a Budapest Pridera, hogy támogassák a magyar LMBTQ embereket, azon belül is a már évek óta feledésbe merülő medveközösséget. Az, hogy ez idén miért kiemelten fontos, azt talán a magyarul beszélőknek nem is kell részleteznünk! Mutassuk meg, hogy létezünk, szóljunk minden macinak és macit kedvelőnek, hogy találkozzunk, vonuljunk együtt, és a felvonulás előtt/után is töltsünk együtt minél több időt!
