FILMLEÍRÁS
A kilencvenes évek végén egy kanadai-magyar család beköltözik új otthonába a Vancouver-szigeten. Újrakezdésüket azonban Jeremynek, a család legidősebb gyermekének egyre veszélyesebb viselkedése zavarja meg. Sophy Romvari magyar származású kanadai rendező Locarnoban díjazott filmjében a családi dinamikák, belső viszonyok a legfiatalabb gyermek, Sasha szemszögéből tárulnak fel.

A RENDEZŐRŐL
Sophy Romvari magyar származású, kanadai filmrendező, jelenleg Torontóban él. 2017-ben Pumpkin Movie című rövidfilmje a True/False fesztiválon debütált, majd a Hot Docs és a Sheffield programjában is szerepelt. Diplomafilmje, a Still Processing a TIFF-en mutatkozott be 2020 szeptemberében, majd világszerte fesztiválokat járt és több díjat is nyert. 2022 és 2025 között nyolc rövidfilmjéből retrospektív válogatást tett közzé a Criterion Channel. Első nagyjátékfilmje, a Blue Heron a Locarnói Filmfesztiválon mutatkozott be, ahol elnyerte a Swatch First Feature-díjat. Észak-amerikai premierjére a Torontói Nemzetközi Filmfesztivál Centrepiece szekciójában került sor, ahol elnyerte a Best Canadian Discovery Awardot.

DESCRIPTION
In the late 1990s, a Canadian-Hungarian family moves into a new home on Vancouver Island. However, their new beginning is disrupted by the increasingly dangerous behavior of Jeremy, the family's oldest child. In this award winning film by Hungarian-Canadian director Sophy Romvari, the family dynamics and internal relationships are revealed from the perspective of the youngest child, Sasha.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR
Sophy Romvari is a Canadian filmmaker with Hungarian roots, currently based in Toronto. In 2017, her short Pumpkin Movie premiered at True/False, later playing Hot Docs and Sheffield. Her thesis film Still Processing premiered at TIFF in September 2020 before touring festivals across the world and winning multiple awards. Still Processing premiered online through MUBI and was nominated for a Canadian Screen Award. A retrospective of 8 of her short films was made available on the Criterion Channel from 2022-2025. Her feature debut Blue Heron had its world premiere at Locarno where it won the Swatch First Feature award. It had its North American Premiere at TIFF in the Centrepiece section where it was awarded the Best Canadian Discovery Award.
