STOP STOP wurde 2009 in Barcelona, Spanien, von Frontmann und Bassist Jacob A.M. gegründet. Die Band hat viele kurzfristige Besetzungswechsel erlebt. Danny Spasov (Schlagzeuger) und Vega (Leadgitarrist) kamen hinzu, „The Band“ war endlich komplett. Frustriert von der spanischen Musikszene packte STOP STOP einen Lieferwagen mit Ersparnissen und machte sich dann auf den Weg zu den Küsten Großbritanniens.
„Wir ließen in Barcelona alles zurück, kauften mit all unseren Ersparnissen und Träumen einen Van, steckten unsere gesamte Ausrüstung hinein und zogen nach Großbritannien, ohne zurückzublicken und uns um nichts anderes als Rock’n’Roll zu scheren. Wir fingen an, auf der Straße zu spielen, wo wir etwas Geld für Essen bekamen. Wochenlang gab es keine Duschen, wir schliefen in diesem winzigen, verdammt kalten Van und hatten kaum Gelegenheit, mit unseren Familien zu kommunizieren, aber wir machten weiter, wir lebten das Abenteuer unseres Lebens mit einem Ziel vor Augen: Wir sterben lieber, wenn wir unseren Traum leben, als einen Nachdem wir unser Leben lang bedauert hatten, blieben uns zwei Optionen: Tod oder Rock & Roll! Bald darauf schlossen wir im ganzen Land gute Freunde, die uns sehr halfen und uns alles gaben, was sie hatten. Wir haben monatelang auf den Etagen aller im ganzen Land geschlafen und wurden von unseren Fans gefüttert und gut versorgt.“
Angesichts der großen Mengen an Blut, Schweiß und Tränen war „Aufgeben nie eine Option.“ STOP STOP drängte weiter voran und erhielt außergewöhnliche Resonanz und Lob. Die Band spielte im ganzen Land und konnte sich bald ein Haus zur Miete leisten, das sie ihr Zuhause nennen konnte.
Jedes Wochenende finden Shows in Großbritannien und Tourneen durch ganz Europa statt. Auftritte auf internationalen Festivals wie Rocklahoma (USA), The Ice Rock Festival (Schweiz), SleazeFest (Deutschland), HEAT Festival (Deutschland), The Godney Gathering (Großbritannien) und Hard Rock Hell (Großbritannien).
Im Jahr 2019 schaffte es die Single „The Last Call“ aus dem vierten Album der Band „Get Selfied“ auf die Plattenteller der nationalen Radiosender „Planet Rock“, „Kerrang“ und „BBC Radio“. Der Zug hält nicht an!
STOP STOP formed in 2009 Barcelona, Spain, founded by front man and bassist Jacob A.M. The band has seen many short-term lineup changes. Danny Spasov (Drummer) and Vega (lead guitarist) joined, ‘The Band’ was finally complete. Frustrated with the Spanish music scene, STOP STOP packed a van brought with savings they had, then headed for the shores of the UK.
“We left everything behind in Barcelona, bought a van with all our savings and dreams, put all our equipment in it and moved to the UK not looking back nor giving a damn about anything but rock and roll. We started playing in the streets where we got some money for food. No showers for weeks, slept in that tiny little goddamn cold van and hardly had the chance to communicate with our families but we carried on, we were living the adventure of our lives with one thing in mind, we rather die living the dream than a lifetime of regrets, two options were left for us: death or Rock & Roll! Soon after that, we made good friends all over the land that helped us so much and gave us everything they had. We spent months sleeping on everybody’s floors around the country, got fed and well looked after by our fans.”
With ample amounts of blood, sweat and tears, ‘giving up was never an option. STOP STOP continued to push forward receiving exceptional response and praise. Playing up and down the country, the band were soon able to afford a house to rent and call home.
With UK shows taking place every weekend, tours throughout Europe. Performing International festivals such as Rocklahoma (U.S.A) , The Ice Rock Festival (Switzerland), SleazeFest (Germany), HEAT Festival (Germany), The Godney Gathering (U.K.) and Hard Rock Hell (U.K.).
In 2019 single ‘‘The Last Call’’ from the bands 4th album ‘Get Selfied‘ made it onto the turntables of National Radio Stations ‘Planet Rock’/’Kerrang’/’BBC Radio.’ With an ever growing fanbase, this crazy train is not about to STOP!
