18-21 May • part of RDW Design GO!
🎉 Common House is turning 2 this month so we've teamed up with Urban Vintage to bring to you "A HOME OF ICONIC DESIGN", one of our most ambitious projects so far.
🛋️ The exhibition showcases pieces of furniture awarded the prestigious Compasso D’Oro and exhibited in museums such as MoMA (New York), Centre Pompidou (Paris) and Victoria & Albert Museum (London). Some of these pieces will be in Romania for the first time.
💭 Curated by Urban Vintage, a vintage store dedicated to design icons, pieces that are an inspiration for the present. The exhibition brings together iconic creations by leading architects and designers such as Le Corbusier, Marcel Breuer, Mies van der Rohe or Vico Magistretti.
🏠 The exhibition is hosted by Common House, a multidisciplinary event space set up in a historical monument from 1934, former home of General Henri Cihoschi and studio of his daughter, sculptor Henrietta Cihoschi.
— the space will be complemented by a selection of custom rugs and STOFF objects from Vaalbara, as well as greenery from PlantUp
— the exhibition program includes a workshop held by interior designer Robert Catrina and guided tours by Urban Vintage & Common House - details soon!

"We wanted this combination of new and old to no longer be perceived as a challenge, but as a natural harmony. We created an environment reminiscent of French elegance, where the interwar architecture of the house naturally meets the radical modernism of the exhibited pieces." - Alexandra Marcu, co-founder of Urban Vintage.

“In just two years, Common House has become the host of 200+ events – from pop-up markets to dinners, workshops, exhibitions and more. I am extremely happy to bring to the public our most ambitious project so far: the temporary transformation of the house into an “iconic design home”. This is the most beautiful way to celebrate the second anniversary of this space.” - Romina Banu, founder of Common House.
