✨ Meet the Musicians ✨
Darius Hampton is a saxophonist, composer, and music educator based in Chicago. Over the course of his career, he has been humbled and honored to work with internationally recognized artists such as Slide Hampton (Darius’ great-uncle), Jon Faddis, Victor Goines, Wycliffe Gordon, Dana Hall, Frank Foster, Garnett Brown, Miguel Zenón, Etienne Charles, Randy Weston, Paquito D’Rivera, Tom Tom Washington, and many others. Darius currently serves as the Director of Education and Artist Development at the Jazz Institute of Chicago and as a Jazz Ensemble Director at Northwestern University.
Leo Buczkowski is a bassist from Oak Park, specializing in both electric and upright bass. An active part of the Chicago jazz scene since his high school years, Leo has developed his sound through extensive live performance and collaboration. A recent graduate of DePaul University with a degree in Jazz Studies, he is dedicated to exploring the full range of the bass in both traditional and contemporary settings.
Frank J. Morrison IV is an exhilarating drummer from the South Side of Chicago. Showing a deep interest in music from an early age, Frank began his professional career at 17. He combines fiery explosiveness with exceptional musicality and sensitivity, drawing on influences from gospel, R&B, soul, hip-hop, fusion, and jazz to take listeners on a dynamic musical voyage. Frank has shared the stage with acclaimed artists including Wadada Leo Smith, Ernest Dawkins, Corey Wilkes, Micah Collier, and Tammy McCann, among others.
