“Silencio.” Arriving in L.A. full of big dreams, an aspiring actress (Naomi Watts) decides to help a mysterious amnesiac (Laura Harring) search for her identity, leading them both into the Hollywood underworld, where fantasy and reality flow together. David Lynch’s puzzle-box thriller frequently tops critics’ polls for best film of this century.

The screening on Thursday, August 14, is presented in conjunction with a Cinema Classics Seminar taught by Paul Wright, Ph.D.
