If you’re a passionate supporter of Chick-fil-A—especially our location—you’ve likely had the joy of meeting Wendy Calhoun-Erdman. Wendy has been part of our Chick-fil-A family since 1996 and has shown unwavering love and commitment to our community. In 2018, Alex Hernandez joined our team, and since then, he’s been a vital part of our kitchen and facilities, bringing heart, dedication, and warmth to everything he does.
Through Wendy and Alex, we’ve seen firsthand the incredible capabilities and contributions of individuals with Down syndrome. They’ve not only enriched our team, but they’ve also helped shape the leaders we are today.
Why are we hosting this community event in partnership with the Down Syndrome Association?
There are two key reasons:
We want to honor the love, work, and life lessons Wendy and Alex have shared with us.
We believe it’s time to amplify awareness and support for individuals with Down syndrome in our community. The Brazos Valley and surrounding areas are home to a thriving community of individuals with Down syndrome, and we’re proud to stand alongside them.
The Down Syndrome Association thrives because of people like you—those who believe in inclusion, opportunity, and the power of community. With your support, they’re able to offer regular social events, year-round educational programs, workshops, conferences, and more.
We are truly grateful for the opportunity to work with incredible individuals like Wendy and Alex. More importantly, we are honored to advocate for them and others in the Down syndrome community.
Please consider joining us to raise funds that provide education, resources, and opportunities that empower individuals with Down syndrome to pursue their dreams and live fulfilling, purpose-driven lives.
