Join us for a screening of four films by Rudy Burckhardt that reflect his deep ties to Maine: "Daisy" (1966), "Scattered Showers" (1999), "Julie" (1980), and "Tarzam" (1969). The film program will last approximately one hour and will be followed by a discussion and Q&A with filmmaker Jacob Burckhardt and artist Tom Burckhardt. This event is presented in conjunction with the exhibition "Rudy Burckhardt: Three Maine Films," on view at the Bowdoin College Museum of Art through November 9, 2025.
The screening will take place outdoors on Bowdoin’s main quad near the Visual Arts Center (239 Maine St, Brunswick, ME 04011). Please feel free to bring a blanket, lawn chairs, and your favorite snacks to enjoy with the films. Chairs will also be provided. In the event of inclement weather, the event will take place in The Lantern, located in the Roux Center for the Environment (38 Harpswell Rd, Brunswick, ME 04011). Please check the Bowdoin College Museum of Art’s website and social media for updates.
Free and open to the public; no registration required. Presented by the Bowdoin College Museum of Art.
