root tangle theory: a mycelium and mangrove inspired party for the climate

While panels convene in conference halls across the city to debate climate futures, we gather underground. The subterranean party Root Tangle Theory is where swamp logic comes alive: messy, adaptive, and collective. In the cavern’s low light, basslines pulse like roots beneath the surface, weaving dancers, dreamers, and doers into a shared rhythm of care.

The basement opens into multiple rooms—each its own pocket of the swamp. One vibrates with the DJ’s set, another is transformed by an artist into an immersive atmosphere, others offer quiet corners for conversation and pause. Together they form a soft infrastructure of relation, bending and flowing like mangroves and mycelium threads.

Water and light snacks are provided. A bodega across the street offers plenty more, and guests are welcome to bring their own beverages. Adults only. Please: no smoking inside and no gathering out front—out of respect for the neighbors.
