North Brooklyn Talent Show: Building a Better World

In collaboration with St. Nicks Alliance, Amant hosts the North Brooklyn Talent Show which celebrates the voices and visions of young artists across twenty-three local schools. Guided by St. Nicks’ dedicated teaching artists, students share their work in dance, music, theatre, visual art, and the culinary arts—each piece a reflection of their creativity and care. This year’s theme, “building a better world through the arts,” threads through it all, inviting us to imagine, alongside them what a more joyful, just, and connected future might look like. This program is held in conjunction with Amant’s current exhibition, On Education, on view through August 17, 2025.

Amant programs are always free. RSVPs are strongly encouraged. Seating is first come, first serve with some standing room available. Check-in for the event will start at 6:00pm on Wednesday, June 11, in Géza, located at 306 Maujer.

More About St.Nicks Alliance

St. Nicks Alliance is a community organization which seeks to transform lives of low- and moderate-income people through employment, education, housing, and health care. They deliver impactful services with measurable outcomes to children, adults, and the elderly. As a civic anchor St. Nicks Alliance carries out this mission within the context of building a sustainable community for all people through the arts, environmental advocacy, and urban planning.

St. Nicks Alliance partners with public schools to operate free community schools and after-school centers. Through year-round youth development, academic support, enrichment activities, and Transformational Coaching, students receive the high-quality after-school services they need to succeed in school, graduate high school, and go on to college and/or a career. St. Nicks Alliance partners with School Settlement Association, Community School District 14, NYC Department of Education, NYC Department of Youth and Community Development, NYS Council on the Arts, and the NYS Office of Children and Family Services to ensure children, ages 5–14, have rich, engaging experiences during out-of-school hours. They also partner with the NYC Housing Authority to provide these same services at local community centers.
