Chief Monk Syunken Yokoyama
The 17th-generation chief Monk (priest) of Sotosyu, Antouin temple (Soto Zen Temple named Antouin) in Fukushima city, Japan. While He conducts all the roles of a Sotosyu Monk, he actively participates in international NPO activism to support world peace. He is also constantly evolving the role of temples in modern society and providing his temple for yoga / meditation practice monthly to the community.
Antoin Temple was established in 1595.
-On the Antoin Temple premises, there’s a designated cultural property by Fukushima prefecture, Japan, Mochizurikannon, Taho tower still exists today as the oldest shrine dedicated to Buddhism to be preserved as its original form in Tohoku Region.
