Made in NYC Week 2025 Factory Tour in partnership with SBIDC

Join Made in NYC for an informative factory tour of three manufacturing facilities in Red Hook! We will begin at 3pm at Shop Cat before moving along to Flickinger Glassworks and ending the tour with a tasting at Strong Rope Brewery. Please note that guests will be walking as a group between locations, requiring approximately 3/4 of a mile travel distance.

Shop Cat: A full-service fabrication and design studio based in Red Hook, Brooklyn, specializing in creative technology, animatronics, casting, mold making, art production, scenic fabrication, creative engineering, prop fabrication, creative direction, art direction, and custom design.

Flickinger Glassworks: From a small workshop in Little Italy to a renowned glassworks in Red Hook, Brooklyn, Flickinger Glassworks’ history is a testament to resilience, creativity, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.

Strong Rope Brewery: As a New York state farm brewery, Strong Rope Brewery looks to explore the capabilities of regional malt and hops while working directly with farming partners and the land. Strong Rope has two locations in Brooklyn, with its Red Hook waterfront taproom and brewhouse opening in 2021, where all its beer production currently takes place. Strong Rope's first location opened in Gowanus in 2015, and the company is proudly owned and operated by husband and wife team Jason Sahler and Christina Quintero.

This tour is being offered as part of Made in NYC Week 2025, our seventh annual event series celebrating the local manufacturing and maker community and is organized in partnership with the Southwest Brooklyn Industrial Development Corporation, a nonprofit organization established in 1978 that supports industrial businesses in the Sunset Park, Red Hook and Gowanus neighborhoods.
