About This Event:
Join us for an unforgettable culinary experience at Flatbush Central, Food for Thought, a signature series by Mangrove that explores the rich connections between food, culture, sustainability, and tradition.
In this special session, we spotlight whole animal butchery, guided by the skilled hands of Abou Sow, owner of Prince Abou's Butchery. Together, we will explore the art and ethics of preparing a whole lamb, honoring age-old techniques that respect both the animal and the craft.
Complementing this will be vibrant, fresh seasonal vegetables sourced from FarmerJawn Agriculture, celebrating the bounty of local harvest.
Our meal will be elevated by Chef Tamara Deguerre, owner of Perfect Blends, who will curate a soulful, exquisite menu inspired by traditional Haitian cuisine in honor of Haitian Heritage Month. This gathering also celebrates the spirit of Mother's Day, making it a perfect time to reflect, share, and savor together.
Experience hands-on learning, thoughtful conversation, and a beautifully prepared community meal that brings heritage and sustainability to the table.
