In July 1776, servicemen tore down and cut apart the gilded statue of King George III at Bowling Green. This act continues to serve as a symbol of liberation today.
Join Scholar-in-Residence for a fun, family-friendly reenactment of this historic event in front of the Old Stone House. This event will also celebrate the last day of.
Visitors of all ages are encouraged to write tyrannies they seek to declare independence from on a re-created statue of King George III.
Then we will read the Declaration of Independence and tear down the statue!
