Commons 2, Quality Living, Project Diem, & Deartongue @ The Cobra Club

Quality Living: There was little, if any, original intent behind the selection of Quality Living's name, but as time went by, and things became increasingly chaotic on an increasingly grand scale, it took on a funny little defiance. Their songs, set in lonely suburbs, vacuous getaway spots, and blurry dive bars, often seem to fight doggedly for some kind of comfort amidst the threat of repetitive gloom. With their four-song Aggro Crag EP (July '24), QL continue what their previous series of singles started: delivering transportive and relistenable indie rock songs that are full of idiosyncrasies.

Project Diem: Project Diem is a dreamy indie rock outfit founded by Meghan Seeberg and Dominic Dellaquila. The 5 piece weaves intimate themes into sweeping melodies, wrapping each track in a blanket of unpredictable intensity.

Deartongue: ‘deartongue’ is a band formed by Atedhë “Rex” Rexha, a first-generation American and native New Yorker. What began as a collection of songs written while in other projects, ‘deartongue’ came together as an outlet to push towards authenticity and visceral reality. The sextet blends a hypodermic reverie of art-rock and confessional lyricism; taking inspiration from the likes of Kevin Ayers, Patti Smith, CAN, Jeff Buckley, and The Fall.
