Brown Babies n’ Books — Bedtime Bonnet

Join Brown Babies N’ Books for a joyful and loving celebration of culture, family, and storytelling at Taylor and Co. Bookstore on Sunday, June 1st! We’re thrilled to feature a special storytime and book signing with award-winning author Nancy Redd, reading her heartwarming picture book Bedtime Bonnet.

Bedtime Bonnet is the first-ever picture book to highlight Black nighttime hair traditions—perfect for every little one who’s ever searched for their bonnet before bed. As the sun goes down, each family member wraps their hair with care, from durags to scarves, caps to wraps. But when our young narrator can’t find her bonnet, the whole family comes together in a loving, multi-generational moment of connection.

This event invites families to come cozy and proud in their pajamas, bonnets, durags, scarves, or wig caps for an affirming pajama party full of literacy, laughter, and love.
