About the event

A One-of-a-Kind Eco Bag to Celebrate Your Journey
Join us to create a custom eco bag by Boojil, inspired by your travel memories. A unique keepsake from Yamma.

About this Event

Japanese artist Boojil, who has traveled solo across Asia, North America, and South America, connecting with people through her art, will create a custom illustration on a Yamma eco bag just for you - inspired by your personal travel memories.

Share the landscapes you’ve seen and the stories you’ve gathered along the way. She’ll work with you to turn your journey into a visual motif - she can even draw your portrait!

This is a special collaboration with Yamma, featuring bags dyed in original colors using traditional Japanese dyes. A unique keepsake and the perfect companion for your next adventure.

We hope this eco bag becomes a communication tool that opens doors and starts conversations wherever you go.

Artist Profile: Boojil

An artist and picture book author born in Yokohama in 1984, Boojil is based in Tokyo. Known for her colorful, peaceful style inspired by her solo travels around the world, she has created illustrations for TV shows, products, advertisements, and magazines.

Her book "Okappa-chan Tabi ni Deru" ("The Bob-Haired Girl Goes on a Journey", Shogakukan) was adapted into an animated series for NHK’s E-TV, and her picture book "Okappa-chan" marked her debut in the children's literature world.

In her 10th year as an artist, she studied in Mexico, learning Spanish and folk craft from Indigenous artisans. Her work includes visuals for the National Museum of Ethnology and the renovation of a 70-year-old traditional house in Tokyo, now serving as a cultural and community hub, Tokyo Okappa-chan House.

Her watercolor artwork and interviews are featured in art textbooks for grades 3–6 (Bunkyo Publishing). She also designed the logo for the 100th International Day of Cooperatives, serves as a judge for the Aeon Town SDGs Kids’ Art Contest, and participates in regional product selection for “NeriColle” in Nerima Ward.

Currently, she is a proud mother of two elementary school boys and balances work and parenting with creativity and passion.
