What do Charles Mingus and Freddy Mercury have in common? Next to nothing. But they were both geniuses who left this world too soon, Mingus at 56 and Mercury at 45, and they were both at the height of their powers in 1975, when Mingus released "Changes One" and "Changes Two," and Queen released "A Night at the Opera," most famous for "Bohemian Rhapsody."
These albums make strange bedfellows, but you can compare them side-by-side tonight, UPstairs@POSTunderground (street level, easy access, fresh air).
Say what you will, tonight is very likely your only chance to experience this musical dichotomy, and as always admission is free, as is the junk food, and the CASH bar is the best deal in town.
Showtime is 7 PM!
It's a PARTY!!!
