My Story, Our History is an introduction to theatre through storytelling, writing, and design. Participants will journal, create collages, write poetry or monologues, and create portraits. The workshops will explore themes of identity, home, neighborhood, and history.
Roundabout Teaching Artists curated a series of artistic workshops designed to spark the creative process through storytelling, ensemble building, and community connections. Using Roundabout’s Theatrical Teaching Framework, a pedagogical lens developed by Roundabout that centers learners as artists, leverages their skills as a theatre maker, andcelebrates the process of artistic creation, program participants will explore the world of plays to begin to create their own original piece of community theatre.
In these inter-generational workshops, participants will collaborate to create their own story, essay, monologue, play, song, poem, speech, and/or theatrical performance which will culminate in a communal sharing.
