VE Day 80th Anniversary Event

Join us on Thursday 8th May from 8:30pm as we come together to mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day with a moving evening of remembrance. This is a free event, held at the War Memorial at the top of Stone High Street.

The event will feature stirring performances from Florence Brass Band and Stone Choral Society, followed by a short commemorative service, words of reflection, and the laying of a wreath.

At 9:30pm, we will join the national tribute with the lighting of the Beacon—a powerful symbol of peace and remembrance.

We invite the whole community to be part of this historic and poignant occasion.

Alongside this event, the Stone Heritage Centre will be showcasing their VE Day Exhibition, from 11am - 9.30pm. Free entry, no booking required.
