This summer, we are excited to be creatively collaborating with Upcycled Upholstery, a fellow BP resident, to combine artistic expression in all it’s natural forms.
What better way to get inspired than out in Mother Nature, in the beautiful grounds of Beckenham Place Park. We will have forgaging fun, looking for suitable wild leaves, flowers and blooms.
We will then use these items as a template to create nature prints onto remnant fabric pieces. Colour is a powerful medium for self-expression, uplifting mood and playful creative freedom, and there will be a selection of Neon fabric paints to choose from.
We will explore various techniques to transfer the designs onto fabric such as stenciling, printing and hand-drawn illustrations.
We will then heat-set the fabric designs before creating the pattern to make an Eco-Shopper. Sewing the pieces together along with adding your straps as well as a little time at the end to customize the bag further with added detail of embroidery, pom poms or hand-stitching.
You will leave with your very own personalized fabric-printed Eco-Shopper which is completely sustainable – made from repurposed fabric using traditional printing methods and can be used time and time again.
