Contractors working on behalf of the Parks Department of Bristol City Council do a hay cut in the Daisy Field every August. This year there is a considerable amount of Blackthorn which has grown on to the meadow, and we've been asked, as volunteers, if we can cut it back. We've been loaned 3 Tree Poppers, which are very effective to pull out the blackthorn by the roots, here's a video demonstrating their use:

I'll be in the Daisy Field, up by the Warhorse, this Thursday from 11am (rain forecast earlier) if anyone would like to come along and have a go too. I'll have some Loppers and thick gloves too.
