Believe in Bristol is thrilled to announce the 25th Anniversary season of the beloved Border Bash summer concert series.
Since its inception in 2000, Border Bash has grown from a modest gathering in a quiet city center into a signature summer tradition in a vibrant downtown. Over the past 25 years, the series has brought free live music, local vendors, and family-friendly fun to the heart of Downtown Bristol, showcasing a diverse array of musical talents, from local favorites to nationally recognized artists.
“Border Bash has become more than just a concert series; it’s a celebration of our community’s spirit and resilience,” said Maggie Elliott, Executive Director of Believe in Bristol. “We’re excited to honor 25 years of music, memories, and community connection, and we look forward to sharing this special season with everyone.”

Adam Bolt Bio:
Adam Bolt is an award-winning singer-songwriter from Abingdon, Virginia, celebrated for his blend of candid storytelling, sardonic wit, and heartfelt southern hymns. Describing his music as "sensationalized, cynical, and seasoned in the key of country," Bolt draws inspiration from artists like Todd Snider, John Prine, and Tom T. Hall. His songs often reflect his experiences in rural life and his philosophical musings, creating a compelling journey through both light and dark moments.
A former grape farmer, Bolt spent years working in the fields, where the solitude provided the perfect space for his mind to wander and create songs that would become the soundtrack to his experiences. His live performances are known for their ability to elicit laughter, tears, and singalongs, showcasing his engaging presence. Bolt's accolades include multiple awards, such as 1st place in the 2023 The Crooked Road Songwriters Competition. His music continues to resonate with audiences, offering a unique perspective on life's absurdities and profundities.
The Tan & Sober Gentlemen Bio:
Born and raised in North Carolina, The Tan and Sober Gentlemen began embracing the songs, stories, and tunes of their beloved state’s musical tradition before they could even talk. The music of the Carolinas—and Appalachia in general—stems from the union of the Irish fiddle and the African banjo, which first met in the American South before the Revolution. The Tan and Sober Gentlemen aim to bring these traditions full circle. They seamlessly blend Irish tunes, ballads, and pub songs with the Appalachian fiddle music of their youth, creating what they call "Irish-American hillbilly music." Known for their high-energy live shows, they’ve earned a reputation as one of the South’s hardest-hitting acts, playing at blazing tempos and pouring every ounce of energy into their performances. The result is a raucous celebration of the Carolinas’ Irish heritage, filled with drinking, dancing, and merriment galore.
Since their formation in 2017, the six-piece band has toured the US and Ireland, headlining legendary Irish clubs such as Whelan's and the Roisin Dubh. In the States, their résumé includes appearances at major festivals like Bristol Rhythm and Roots, Appaloosa Festival, Tartan Day South, and Shakori Hills. In January 2023, they sold 683 tickets at the Haw River Ballroom in their hometown of Alamance County. Their sophomore record, Regressive Folk Music, was released in June 2022, following their debut album, Veracity, which was named one of the five best Celtic punk records of 2019 and 2020 by Shite'n'Onions.
Border Bash is hosted by Believe in Bristol and would not be possible without our community sponsors.
