Celebrating the release of Tribute to Sonny Boy Williamson (8th Train Music, available on CD and vinyl), the patron saint of BCBS and an important influence on Mikey Junior. This album is a long time dream come true for MJ. Mikey and his band will be performing the music of Sonny Boy Williamson and other blues classics for your listening and dancing pleasure.
Also celebrating the 36th anniversary of BCBS Co-founder Tom Cullen's 39th birthday. The Coach is the longest continuously serving blues society president in the world.

Sonny Boy Williamson II (aka Aleck “Rice” Miller, 1912-65; born Glendora, MS and died in Helena, AR).
“Sonny Boy's music captivated me and drew me into the art form and the world that is blues harmonica.” (MJ) Buddy Guy said that Sonny Boy used to say “They don't make men like me anymore.” B.B. King called Sonny Boy “the king of blues harmonica.” A teenaged James Cotton was mentored by Sonny Boy and briefly took over his band when Sonny Boy went MIA. Sonny Boy's highest charting Checker singles on Billboard's R&B Chart: “Don't Start Me to Talkin'” (#3) and “Keep It To Yourself “ (#14) are featured on Tribute to Sonny Boy Williamson.
