This is the general location but you're welcome to set yourself up and create art anywhere in the vicinity.
This vibrant intersection is home to the UK's oldest cinema, the Duke of York's. Other points of interest include Preston Fire Station (please don't sit in the way of the station, though!), and The Joker & Hare and Hounds pubs. You might also want to wander up Beaconsfield Road to capture the Viaduct, or up to Argyle Street to capture some pretty rainbow houses.
For first timers and those who'd like to say hi before getting stuck into sketching, there will be a short briefing at 10.30 outside the Duke of York's cinema (what3words: ///tour.deep.rams).
At 12:45, we'll meet back outside the Duke of York's Cinema for a throwdown to share our sketches.
WET WEATHER: in the case of wet weather, we'll reschedule the meetup or pick a sheltered location. The event info will be updated.
🎨ABOUT URBAN SKETCHERS BRIGHTON
This is a new community art meetup. Once it's regularly established, we'll be registering it with Urban Sketchers - a non-profit with chapters worldwide.
We meet on the first Saturday of each month, in a different location each time, to draw our much-loved Brighton and Hove.
Bring your own materials and draw, sketch, paint, or whatever your heart desires 🙂
