The NSSN is organising a rally at TUC
Congress in Brighton on Sunday 7th
September, to lobby for unions to pass
the motion from the TUC Trades
Councils Conference and make a
campaign of demonstrations and
strikes the official policy of the TUC.
The motion opposes “the
attacks on disability benefits to…build
support for the TUC Disabled Workers
Committee to organise a
demonstration and lobby of
Parliament…and for the TUC to
organise a weekend demonstration
against Labour austerity as a
launchpad for sustained trade union
action in defence of workers and
young people.”
Starmer came to TUC Congress last
year, his first in office, and called for
unions to take part in partnership –
with his government and the bosses.
But the lesson of the last 12 months
shows - whether it be the Winter Fuel
Allowance, the cut to disability
benefits, or the Unite Birmingham bin
workers having their wages savaged
by a Labour council and having their
shameful strike breaking measures
back by Starmer – we can only rely on
our own strength, and only militant
action can get results.
Come to Brighton and lobby the TUC
on Sunday 7 September
