Love Thy Neighbour Presents:NO FRIENDS IN THE INDUSTRY
.30pm – The Sick Man Of EuropeEmerging from London’s underground music scene, The Sick Man Of Europe is distinctly monochrome in its outlook. Each note counts in this climate – economical but played with absolute precision and conviction. Propelled forward by machines and seeking solace in repetition. There are echoes of the post-punk and European art rock pioneers at the cusp of the 80s, but re-tooled for the present. The same fears. Looking for answers or something to believe in, but finding more questions in an age of absolutes.
.30pm – The CindysBristolian outfit The Cindys united through a shared love of Alex Chilton, The Clean and The Feelies. Birth child of Jack Ogborne (aka Bingo Fury) and with help from Naima Bock, Finlay Burrows and members of Belishas, the group fronts surrealist imagery and infectious hooks at a pace that’ll give you butterflies. Their yet to be released debut album was recorded across the west country, between the vault of the Cornish Bank in Falmouth, Rockfield studios in Wales and the cellar of legendary venue The Louisiana in Bristol throughout 2024. The album includes production and engineering contributions from Joe Jones (Aldous Harding, The Cure, Teenage Fanclub) and Sam Stackpool of Holiday Ghosts, who also features on guitar. The album can be expected later this year.
.30pm- Blood Wizard
.30pm – Bazuco
.30pm – PynchPynch are a true DIY band that have built up a dedicated global fanbase through a combination of tenacity, wistful lo-fi and life affirming lyricism. On their debut album, Howling at a Concrete Moon, they followed through on the promise of their early singles and delivered ten stunning tracks that provide a snapshot of what it is to be young and adrift at this strange junction of history.
.30pm – Scott Hepple & The Sun BanA lot’s happened since 2021. Back then Newcastle native Scott Hepple recorded a pile of his songs solo with musical assistance from friends. When asked to play a show two years later, a band was put together that evolved and then settled around Scott Hepple (vocals, guitar, Mellotron, keys), Thomas Keith (guitars), Sophie Keith (bass, backing vocals) and Luc Hindmarch (drums, percussion). The lo-fi self-released LP ‘Ashes To Wildflowers’, was released in 2023. It was followed 2024’s eight-track mini-album ‘Lammas’ , both of which were well-received, even if only a few in the know were aware of this exciting new band. As a result, the Sun Band played various shows across Europe and the UK, including a support for the legendary Johnny Echols & Love, as headliners at Third Man Records in London andShindig! Magazine’s ‘Happening!’ night, where the band impressed Rise Above’s Lee Dorrian enough for him to sign them on the spot. The ‘Smoke And Frown’ single debuted on the label last August.
.30pm – Makeshift Art Bar
.30pm – The Klittens
