It’s a lovely spot to dance and we are delighted to invite you to a FREE afternoon of alfresco freestyle dancing!
Beautiful and unique, the Bankstand was first opened in 1884, and restored to its original condition and reopened in 2009. The Bandstand is considered to be one of the finest examples of a Victorian bandstand still surviving in England today.
So if you are available on Bank Holiday Monday why not come and join James and many of the Thursday night gang for a fun, free outdoors dance. With optional pre-Dancing Meet-Up/Picnic on beach in front of bandstand (2.30-3.30pm).
FLOOR: The floor is tiled and easy to dance on. There are some cracks between the tiles though, so maybe don’t wear your most expensive dance shoes.
CLOTHES: The forecast is currently looking pretty good but it can get a little breezy so probably best to bring a cardigan or light jacket.
FOOD/DRINK: There is a Café directly underneath for coffees/snacks and plenty of other place nearby. Of course we’d love you to join us for our pre-dance picnic (bring your own food & drink😊)
PARKING:
Off road metred on roads leading away from seafront. Please check restrictions though - it’s Brighton and Bank Holiday doesn’t mean free parking unfortunately!
Regency Square Car Park (BN1 2RU) - Closest but also the most expensive (£17: 4 hours)

Churchill Square Car Park (BN1 2FG)- Just a few minutes walk away and cheaper than Regency Square if you are staying a few hours (£11: 3-4 hours)

Norton Road Car Park Hove ( BN3 3BE) – By far the cheapest Car Park (£6.40: 4 hours) . It’s a bit further way (15-20 mins walk). It’s worth it though. You can also enjoy a lovely stroll along the Hove Seafront to the Bandstand.
