What you learn on the course:
We often talk about transitions for children but rarely give ourselves the benefit of acknowledging that we are also going through transitions. Being promoted and evolving into a new role is a big transition.
With this transition to team leader comes a shift in relationships. This may mean changes in working relationships with your peers or friends. For your role to be effective you need to separate the role of friend and leader and appreciate the balance that needs to be struck. If your friendships are too close, it can challenge your decision making, fairness and respect with the whole team.
This course will develop confidence in your own skills transitioning from a team member to a team leader. The course will increase understanding of the expectations of the role and how it supports quality of education and care for children. You will learn how to communicate effectively and lead with impact.
Key Topics/Outcomes:
• Developing self-confidence
• The transition from team member to team leader.
• Overcoming challenges and barriers

• Effective communication and leading with impact
