2025 Midwest Thunderbird Cup

The Midwest Rugby Union is thrilled to announce the 2025 Midwest Thunderbird Cup. This event features the top men and women's players from all eight (8) member Local Area Unions (LAUs) that belong to the Midwest Rugby Union.

This year, the Men's Cup Division will feature Wisconsin (1), Michigan (2), Allegheny (3), and Indiana (4) while the Women's Cup will feature Minnesota (1), Ohio (2), CARFU (3), and Michigan (4).

In the Plate Division, the Men's Competition will feature Iowa (5), Minnesota (6), CARFU (7), and Ohio (8). The Women's Plate will feature Wisconsin (5), Iowa (6), Indiana (7), and Allegheny (8).

Both levels of competition will semifinals on Saturday and Finals/ Consolation on Sunday. The top team from Plate will promote to Cup for the following year. The last place team in Cup will relegate to Plate the following year.

This year's event will be held on the turf fields outside SeatGeek Stadium, the home of the Chicago Hounds. All players and coaches will receive free admission to the MLR Chicago Hounds game on Saturday evening.

Player participation in this event is the primary selection opportunity to be selected to the Midwest Thunderbirds Program.
