Every technique we teach is tested in real operational settings, ensuring your team is ready for the challenges.
This workshop incorporate techniques that have been enhanced and fine-tuned over decades, giving handlers expertise and precision that simply cannot be found anywhere else.

The K9 TRAINING CENTER is committed to continuous progress, because standing still means falling behind—especially when it comes to dog training, and particularly in the world of detection training. Since training detection dogs for various assignments is a key part of our work, we strive to stay up to date with the latest techniques and developments.
Despite the rise of artificial intelligence and robotics, dogs remain undeniably valuable. Their noses are still incredibly powerful and indispensable tools.
During a work visit to the United States, Johan met Frank Schembre and was impressed by his expertise, experience, and knowledge as a K9 handler, trainer, instructor, evaluator, and examiner in the field of detection. This encounter led to an invitation for Frank to come to Belgium to train and educate our training team.
In addition, on June 7 and 8, 2025, we are excited to open up the seminar "The Art of Detection" by Frank Schembre to the public, both with and without dogs.
Tracking and detection training are becoming increasingly popular hobbies among private individuals, which is a development we fully support. Not only is it a fun and engaging activity to do with your dog, but it also contributes positively to the dog’s mental well-being.
That’s why this event will be both accessible and educational for amateurs and professionals alike.
INTRODUCING Frank Schembre:
Frank Schembre is a highly sought-after trainer in the U.S. and beyond, traveling extensively across the country to provide training for various public services such as the police, military, and customs agencies, and to speak at numerous conferences.
His expertise, knowledge, and experience are the result of more than 30 years in which he has fulfilled—and continues to fulfill—every role in the detection world. Frank is not only a K9 handler but also a trainer, instructor, evaluator, and examiner for detection dogs across the United States.
Thanks to his years of hands-on experience, Frank has an exceptional understanding of what both detection dogs and their handlers need to know and be capable of to operate effectively in the field, as well as what is essential during the certification process.
