Graffiti, the first and oldest element of hip-hop, is a people's art based in storytelling through modern hieroglyphs, bold letters, vibrant colors, and abstract expressions. Sucka Punch brings that energy to a three-day festival you didn't see coming! The event begins during Brattleboro’s first-Friday Gallery Walk 5-9 p.m., and continues through the weekend—Saturday 12-9, and Sunday 12-4. Join us for a World Music Tent Party on Saturday, 6-9 p.m.—an all ages dance party with DJ Ahmad Shakur, food vendors, and a cash bar.
Featured artists include Erotica67, Clark Fly Id, TAMEARTZ, El Souls, Will Kasso, Liz Amaral, BEAS, Anthill, KEAS, Uncle Erok, Image, Will C., Wisdom, Plasma Slugs…and more!
EVENT HOURS
Friday, October 3, 5-8 p.m.
Saturday, October 4, 12-9 p.m.
Sunday, October 5, 12-4 p.m.
HAPPENING ALL WEEKEND LONG
(All activities are free, family-friendly, and materials are provided.)
*Live painting—Watch local, regional, and internationally known graffiti artists paint along 11 Arch Street.
*Kids Corner—Button-making, coloring sheets, and more!
*Make Your Own “Black Book”—A graffiti black book is a sketchbook where writers develop styles, practice lettering, and exchange drawings. It serves as both a personal creative journal and a shared piece of graffiti culture. Black books are the training ground for graffiti artists. Writers from all over the world have developed “blackbooking” into an artform that showcases exquisite execution of pencils, markers and paint to produce pages of completed masterpieces.
*DJs will be spinning all weekend.
*Community Mural Project—Paint a shape to be collaged into the final design on the community mural wall.
