Peter Siegel, founding member of The Gaslight Tinkers hosts two local seasoned/touring songwriters on the first Sunday of every month at the new Marigold in Brattleboro. On June 1st it will be Emily Margaret and Derek Sensale. While events like this are often a "showcase" of each musician individually, this evening is about spontaneous collaboration with harmonies, back up, and unplanned mayhem (!).
Backstory: During the Pandemic, Peter Siegel hosted a livestream from his porch in downtown Brattleboro with one local guest musician a week. This was a showcase of the amazing talent within a "stone's throw" of Peter's house with hundreds of viewers around the world tuning in for almost two years. This is an in-person monthly revival of that series.
Host Peter Siegel (www.petersiegel.com , www.thegaslighttinkers.com) cut his teeth working with folks like Pete Seeger, Jay Unger and Molly Mason, Judy Collins, Dar Williams, Utah Phillips, Noel Paul Stookey of Peter Paul and Mary, and was a bandmate of bluegrass powerhouse Michael Daves in the 90's "New Old Time" band Underbelly which the Berkshire Eagle called "a supergroup of New England talent". He contributed and recorded on the Grammy award winning Pete Seeger album "Tomorrow's Children". His other credits include publication in Sing Out! magazine and the fiddle tune compilation, The Portland Collection, as well as appearances on the nationally syndicated Etown.
Since first picking up a guitar at age 7, and writing her first song two years later, 17 year-old, Guilford, VT-based singer/songwriter Emily Margaret has honed her songwriting craft studying at the Antidote Workshop with two time Grammy award-winner Sonya Kitchell, and at the Berklee College of Music. Drawing inspiration from R&B, jazz, and folk influences, she crafts a soulful folk sound that showcases her poetic yet relatable lyrics, and her powerful velvety voice. Follow her on Instagram at

Derek Sensale is a New England-based folk musician known for his intimate, nature-inspired songwriting and performances that blend traditional folk with a modern sensibility. His music often draws from the natural landscapes of Vermont and New Hampshire, weaving personal narratives with melodies that range from joyful to melancholic. He is also the driving force behind the well-loved string band Pinedrop,
