Save Affordable Housing: Important Vote at Brampton City Hall!

As a result of ACORN's organizing at 507 Balmoral Dr - an affordable apartment building that the owner wants to demolish - the City of Brampton is voting on a potential rental replacement bylaw. A rental replacement bylaw would ensure tenants' housing is protected and end demovictions.

This isn’t just about one building. It’s about preserving what little affordable housing is left in Brampton! Without STRONG tenant protections, even more affordable units will be at risk of demolition and the housing crisis will only deepen.

ACORN members are calling on Brampton City Council to:

Introduce a STRONG rental replacement bylaw with temporary accommodations, rental top ups and right-to-return at the same rent after construction is guaranteed.
